About Me

When I was around thirteen, I wanted to create a visual representation of who I am, my culture, my skin, and the love I have for these parts of my being. I was not fond of the idea of wearing a shirt or hat to express myself, so I started looking for jewelry that represented my culture but had no luck. Years later, after enlisting in the military I was stationed in Utah. Tried dating for a while and experienced more racism in 3 months then I've experienced in my whole life. Despite how strong I try to be I will admit, it broke me. It took about 3 months to bounce back from the insecurities I had built. Then randomly at work the concept came to me again, so once more, I researched it having found nothing. So, I took it upon myself to create Jyels Jewelry line hoping to be the change I wanted to see in the world by inspiring those who struggle to love themselves, empowering those who struggle to understand their strength, and spread love to those struggling to love themselves.
